Job Description

As an Orderly, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients, supporting nursing staff, and maintaining a clean and organized hospital environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with mobility, including transfers to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers.
- Transport patients safely and efficiently within the hospital for appointments, procedures, or discharge.
- Deliver supplies, equipment, and specimens to various departments as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of patient rooms, common areas, and utility rooms.
- Change linens and prepare patient beds.
- Respond to patient call lights and assist with non-medical needs.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including infection control protocols.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED (or actively working towards one)
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong empathy and a compassionate demeanor.
- Physical stamina to perform duties that require standing, walking, lifting, and pushing.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of patient privacy (HIPAA) principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior volunteer experience in a healthcare setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills (especially Spanish).
