Job Description
Are you meticulously detail-oriented with a keen eye for geographical accuracy? Do you enjoy the flexibility of working from home on a part-time schedule? Telus International is seeking a dedicated Google Map Quality Analyst to join our remote team. This position offers you the opportunity to contribute to the improvement of Google Maps from anywhere in the US, with a preference for candidates residing in or familiar with the Richmond, VA area. As a Google Map Quality Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of geographical data and mapping features. You will analyze and evaluate map data, identify discrepancies, and provide feedback to enhance the user experience for millions globally. This part-time role requires strong internet research skills and the ability to work independently to meet project guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly review and verify geographical data, including roads, points of interest, boundaries, and addresses.
- Identify and report inconsistencies, errors, and outdated information within mapping applications.
- Conduct independent internet research to validate map data and gather additional relevant information.
- Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback on map quality according to established guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to project-specific instructions and quality standards.
- Manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks within specified deadlines.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
- Proven ability to perform effective and efficient internet research.
- Proficiency in using web-based mapping applications and digital tools.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable home office environment.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high levels of productivity in a remote setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in data entry, quality assurance, or map data analysis.
- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other mapping software.
- Knowledge of local geography and points of interest in Richmond, VA, or other US metropolitan areas.
- Experience working on similar crowd-sourced or data annotation projects.
