Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Executive Roadway Specialist with a High Mileage Focus to join our team in Jackson, Wyoming. This pivotal role involves overseeing the strategic planning, maintenance, and optimization of high-traffic and long-distance roadway segments within the state’s transportation network. The successful candidate will leverage advanced analytical skills and extensive experience to enhance roadway longevity, reduce operational costs associated with high wear, and ensure the safety and efficiency of critical routes. This position requires a strong leader capable of managing complex projects, collaborating with multiple stakeholders, and implementing innovative solutions for durable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for the maintenance and improvement of high-mileage roadways.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of road conditions, traffic patterns, and material performance to identify areas requiring strategic intervention.
  • Manage budgets and resources for large-scale roadway projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely completion.
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as private contractors, to coordinate project execution and ensure compliance.
  • Implement and evaluate new technologies and materials to enhance roadway durability and reduce maintenance cycles.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and proposals for executive leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to state and federal regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in roadway design, construction, or maintenance, with a focus on high-traffic or long-distance routes.
  • Proven experience in project management, including budget oversight and resource allocation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in data-driven decision making for infrastructure planning.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard engineering software and GIS tools.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wyoming or ability to obtain reciprocity.
  • Experience with pavement management systems (PMS) and asset management software.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO standards and FHWA guidelines.
  • Previous experience working with state departments of transportation or similar government agencies.
