Job Description
Are you a passionate gamer looking to turn your weekend hobby into a paid opportunity? Pipeworks Studios is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented Weekend Game Testers to join our Quality Assurance team. This part-time role is perfect for students or anyone eager to gain hands-on experience in the video game industry. You’ll be instrumental in identifying bugs, glitches, and usability issues, ensuring our games deliver the best possible experience to players worldwide. If you have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a love for gaming, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and test cases across various game platforms and builds.
- Identify, isolate, and accurately report defects, bugs, and other issues using our bug tracking software.
- Provide clear, concise, and comprehensive descriptions of bugs, including reproduction steps.
- Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing.
- Collaborate closely with development and QA teams to understand game features and testing requirements.
- Offer constructive feedback on game design, usability, and overall player experience.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding unreleased game content.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle discrepancies.
- A genuine passion for video games and familiarity with various genres and platforms.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with software applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable availability to work weekend shifts (Saturdays and/or Sundays).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with different gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile).
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
- Basic understanding of game development cycles or QA methodologies.
- Prior experience in a testing or quality assurance role (can include non-gaming related).
