Job Description
Join the Barnes & Noble team as a Magazine Sorter! This indoor, part-time position is ideal for students seeking flexible work schedules and a chance to contribute to a dynamic retail environment. You will be responsible for accurately receiving, sorting, and organizing incoming magazine shipments, ensuring they are ready for distribution to our various store locations. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining an organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming magazine deliveries.
- Sort magazines by title, publication date, and store destination.
- Verify quantities against shipping manifests and report discrepancies.
- Prepare sorted magazines for outbound shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized sorting area.
- Adhere to safety procedures and company guidelines.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Ability to read and understand sorting instructions.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or sorting environment is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with various magazine titles.
