Job Description
UPS Freight is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Reach Truck Specialist for our busy Laredo distribution center. This is a crucial night shift role responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and retrieval of materials using a reach truck. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating material handling equipment, a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining high productivity standards. A sign-on bonus is offered for qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a reach truck to move, stack, and retrieve products and materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trailers, ensuring accurate inventory handling and placement.
- Perform daily safety checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or issues.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating a reach truck in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work night shifts and occasional weekends.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current reach truck certification.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Previous experience in a logistics or freight distribution setting.
