Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Apple Metadata Analyst with a strong focus on Machine Learning to join our innovative team. In this 100% remote role, you will be instrumental in categorizing, tagging, and enriching vast datasets, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of metadata essential for our machine learning models. You will work closely with ML engineers and data scientists to optimize data quality, improve model performance, and contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI features across Apple’s ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and categorize complex datasets to extract meaningful metadata, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
- Develop and implement metadata standards and guidelines in collaboration with data science and engineering teams.
- Utilize machine learning tools and techniques to automate metadata generation and validation processes.
- Perform quality assurance on metadata, identifying and correcting discrepancies and errors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and improve data pipelines for ML applications.
- Contribute to the design and evolution of data schemas and metadata management systems.
- Document metadata definitions, processes, and data lineage to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices in metadata management, data governance, and machine learning.
- Provide insights and recommendations for data improvement strategies to enhance ML model effectiveness.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis, metadata management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of machine learning principles and data requirements for ML models.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Experience with data cataloging, data governance, and metadata tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Solid communication skills to articulate complex data concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data processing and automation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Knowledge of ontologies, taxonomies, and controlled vocabularies.
- Experience with specific ML frameworks or libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Previous experience in the technology or consumer electronics industry.
