Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Industrial Maintenance Associate with a strong focus on conveyor systems to join our team in Overland Park, Kansas. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our automated material handling equipment, particularly our sophisticated conveyor systems. You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and execute repairs to minimize downtime and support the seamless flow of packages through our facility. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on conveyor systems, including inspections, lubrication, and adjustments.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues in material handling equipment.
- Execute repairs and replacements of defective parts, such as motors, gearboxes, belts, rollers, and sensors.
- Respond to and resolve equipment breakdowns promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance, with a focus on conveyor systems.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
- Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Basic understanding of PLC controls and automation principles.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience with specific conveyor system brands or types commonly used in logistics.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain one.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and other safety regulations.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
