Job Description
Join the UPS team as a Package Runner in Decatur, Georgia! This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals who enjoy physical work and being part of a dynamic delivery team, even without a driver’s license. As a Casual Package Runner, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring timely and efficient package deliveries by assisting our drivers. This position offers flexible hours and the chance to contribute to our mission of delivering what matters. No previous experience is required – we provide comprehensive training.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist UPS package delivery drivers with loading and unloading packages.
- Hand-deliver packages to customers on foot in designated areas.
- Utilize a handheld device for scanning and tracking packages.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and dispatch.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with customers.
- Sort packages in the vehicle according to delivery sequence.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry packages up to 70 lbs independently.
- Physical stamina to work in various weather conditions and perform repetitive motions (walking, bending, lifting).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior experience in a physically demanding role or customer service.
- Familiarity with the Decatur, Georgia area.
