Job Description
As an Order Fulfillment Driver at Amazon’s e-commerce warehouse in Victorville, you will play a crucial role in our logistics network, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of customer orders. You will be responsible for picking up packaged orders from our fulfillment center and safely transporting them to designated delivery stations or directly to customers’ homes within the Victorville area. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, working in a fast-paced environment to meet daily delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles (vans, step vans) to transport orders from the warehouse to various delivery points.
- Load and unload packages efficiently and carefully, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules, adapting to changes as needed.
- Utilize handheld devices for scanning packages, tracking deliveries, and navigating routes.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, dispatch, and customers to resolve delivery issues.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle and workspace.
- Provide exceptional customer service during direct customer interactions.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs independently and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Basic proficiency with smartphone applications and GPS navigation.
- Must be 21 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery, courier, or logistics role.
- Experience driving commercial vehicles (e.g., cargo vans, step vans).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the Victorville and surrounding High Desert areas.
