Job Description
Are you practical, detail-oriented, and looking for a rewarding summer role? Homebase is seeking enthusiastic Patio Furniture Assemblers to join our Bolton team for the busy summer season. As a Summer Season Tasker, you will be responsible for assembling a wide range of patio furniture products, ensuring they are built to the highest standards of quality and safety for our customers. This is a hands-on role perfect for individuals who enjoy working with tools and take pride in their craft. You’ll contribute directly to enhancing our customers’ outdoor living spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently and accurately assemble various types of patio furniture, including tables, chairs, loungers, and storage solutions, following manufacturer instructions.
- Inspect all parts for damage or defects before assembly and report any issues to a supervisor.
- Ensure all assembled products meet quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Assist with moving and arranging assembled furniture within the store or designated areas.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with store staff to ensure timely completion of assembly tasks.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with basic hand and power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, drills).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 20kg).
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in furniture assembly or a similar manual role.
- Experience working in a retail or warehouse environment.
- A keen interest in DIY or home improvement.
