Job Description
This role is for a dedicated and skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team in White Plains, NY. You will be responsible for the successful commissioning of complex building automation, fire safety, and security systems. This critical position involves hands-on system testing, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure peak performance and compliance with project specifications and industry standards. We are looking for an individual with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality. The position offers sponsorship for qualified international candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commissioning process for building management systems (BMS), fire alarm systems, and security systems from start to finish.
- Perform point-to-point checks, functional tests, and system integrations.
- Conduct comprehensive system startups, calibrations, and adjustments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to hardware, software, and network components.
- Collaborate with project managers, installers, and clients to ensure project milestones are met.
- Document all commissioning activities, test results, and system configurations accurately.
- Provide training to clients and end-users on system operation and maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
- Participate in site meetings and provide technical expertise.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commissioning building automation, HVAC controls, fire alarm, or security systems.
- Strong understanding of DDC controls, BACnet, Modbus, and other communication protocols.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and control drawings.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various client sites within the region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., NICET, PMP, LEED AP, specific vendor certifications).
- Experience with Siemens Apogee, Desigo CC, or similar building management platforms.
- Prior experience working in the United States.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for building systems.
