Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart your career in automotive service? Discount Tire in Henderson, NV is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Tire Fitter Assistant for an entry-level mechanical role. No prior experience is necessary – we provide comprehensive on-the-job training to help you develop valuable skills. This role is perfect for individuals eager to learn, work with their hands, and contribute to a fast-paced team environment. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring our customers’ vehicles are safe and ready for the road.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with tire installations, rotations, and repairs.
- Mount and balance tires on wheels using specialized equipment.
- Perform basic inspections of tires and wheels for wear and damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and equipment.
- Help customers with basic inquiries and direct them to appropriate staff.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Support inventory management by organizing and moving tires and wheels.
- Learn and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding service and customer interaction.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in automotive work.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced service environment (not necessarily automotive).
- Customer service experience.
