Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Beach Attendant. This is a vital role in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests on the beautiful beaches of Geelong. We provide comprehensive paid safety training, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in coastal recreation and hospitality, even without prior experience. You will be the friendly face our guests rely on for assistance, equipment rental, and general beach information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor beach activities and enforce safety regulations to ensure guest well-being.
  • Provide assistance to guests with beach equipment rental, setup, and return (e.g., umbrellas, chairs, water sports gear).
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of beach areas, including collecting waste and tidying equipment.
  • Report any safety hazards, incidents, or concerns to management promptly.
  • Offer friendly and helpful customer service, answering guest questions about local attractions and amenities.
  • Participate in all required paid safety training and ongoing professional development.
  • Assist with emergency response procedures as directed by supervisors.
  • Conduct regular checks of beach facilities and equipment, reporting maintenance needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (will be provided with training if not held).
  • Experience in customer service or hospitality.
  • Knowledge of local marine life and coastal environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar outdoor or recreational role.
