Job Description

Lafarge Canada Inc. is seeking a motivated and hardworking Cement Mixing Assistant to join our dynamic team in Mississauga. Key Responsibilities
- Assist plant operators with the setup, operation, and shutdown of concrete batching equipment.
- Monitor material levels, including aggregates, cement, and admixtures, ensuring consistent supply.
- Load raw materials onto conveyors and into hoppers as directed, following safety protocols.
- Clean and maintain the mixing equipment, work areas, and plant facilities to ensure optimal operation and a safe environment.
- Perform routine checks and minor maintenance on machinery under supervision.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status and potential issues.
- Assist with inventory management of raw materials and finished products.
- Support quality control efforts by assisting with material sampling and testing.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), standing for long periods, and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or a willingness to learn and adhere to them rigorously.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced operators.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environment.
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Forklift operation certification or experience (willingness to train is acceptable).
