Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated and compassionate Paramedics / EMTs to join our dedicated emergency medical services team within NHS Ayrshire & Arran. This is an incredible opportunity for international professionals looking to relocate to Scotland via the Skilled Worker Route, with full relocation funding provided. You will play a crucial role in providing immediate, life-saving care to patients in pre-hospital environments, responding to emergency calls, assessing conditions, and administering essential medical treatment. Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide pre-hospital medical care to patients in various settings.
  • Assess patient conditions accurately, diagnose immediate medical needs, and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
  • Administer emergency medical treatment, including advanced life support procedures, medication administration, and trauma management.
  • Operate and maintain specialist medical equipment and vehicles.
  • Transport patients safely to medical facilities, ensuring continuous care during transit.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and incident reports.
  • Liaise effectively with other healthcare professionals, emergency services, and patient families.
  • Adhere to all clinical guidelines, protocols, and professional standards set by NHS Scotland and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training.

Required Skills

  • Valid Paramedic/EMT qualification (e.g., HCPC registered Paramedic in the UK or equivalent international certification eligible for HCPC registration).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in an emergency medical setting.
  • Proficiency in advanced life support (ALS) techniques.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in challenging environments.
  • Full valid driving license with appropriate emergency driving qualification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Demonstrable commitment to patient care and professional standards.
  • Eligibility for the UK Skilled Worker Visa route.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science or equivalent higher education.
  • Experience working within a diverse healthcare system.
  • Additional certifications in specialist areas (e.g., PHTLS, AMLS, GEMS).
  • Fluency in an additional language.
