Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Solar Panel Cleaning Laborer to join our growing operations team in Witney, Oxfordshire. In this essential role, you will be responsible for the meticulous cleaning and maintenance of solar panels across various sites, primarily involving roof work. Your dedication will directly contribute to the optimal performance and efficiency of our solar installations, playing a crucial part in our mission to deliver reliable renewable energy. This is a hands-on position requiring comfort with heights, precision with tools, and a strong commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform professional cleaning of solar panels using specialized equipment, including water-fed poles, brushes, and squeegees.
- Work safely and efficiently on various roof types and at different heights, strictly adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Inspect solar panels for any visible damage, wear, or defects during the cleaning process and report findings to the supervisor.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to the highest standard, contributing to maximum energy generation.
- Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order, performing basic checks before and after use.
- Travel to various project sites within Oxfordshire and surrounding areas as required.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to complete tasks efficiently and on schedule.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment (up to 25kg).
- Comfort and confidence working at heights on various roof structures.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid UK driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in outdoor manual labor, roofing, window cleaning, or a similar field.
- Familiarity with basic solar panel systems or renewable energy technologies.
- Possession of relevant safety certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, IPAF, PASMA).
- First Aid certification.
