Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Blind & Curtain Rail Fitter to join our team in Sunderland. This role involves the precise measurement, fitting, and installation of a wide range of blinds, curtain rails, and other window furnishings in residential and commercial properties. You will be a key representative of Hillarys, ensuring every installation meets our high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct accurate measurements of windows and spaces for blinds, curtains, and rails.
  • Install a variety of window furnishings including roller, vertical, Venetian, Roman blinds, and curtain rails.
  • Ensure all installations are completed to the highest standard of precision and quality.
  • Provide excellent customer service, advising clients on product care and operation.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, both on-site and in company vehicles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any installation issues promptly and professionally.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Manage and track inventory of tools and materials needed for installations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in fitting blinds, curtains, or similar fixtures.
  • Strong practical skills and proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
  • Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade (e.g., carpentry, general construction).
  • Experience working directly with customers in their homes.
  • Familiarity with Hillarys product range.
