Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shopify Expert with a strong background in custom app and feature development to join our dynamic team in Sherbrooke. This role is crucial for delivering bespoke solutions that enhance our clients’ Shopify stores, improve user experience, and drive business objectives. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of custom development projects, from initial concept and technical design to implementation, testing, and deployment. If you have a passion for e-commerce, a deep understanding of the Shopify ecosystem, and a knack for creating scalable, robust applications, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy custom Shopify applications and features using Liquid, Ruby on Rails, React, Node.js, or other relevant technologies.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services with Shopify stores to extend functionality.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other developers to define project requirements and technical specifications.
- Optimize Shopify store performance, scalability, and security.
- Perform code reviews, debug issues, and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients and internal teams.
- Stay updated with the latest Shopify platform changes, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tools.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Shopify theme and app development.
- Proficiency in Liquid, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3/SCSS.
- Strong experience with Shopify APIs (Storefront API, Admin API).
- Demonstrable experience building custom Shopify applications or complex store features.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
- Experience with version control systems (Git).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Ruby on Rails or Node.js for backend development.
- Familiarity with GraphQL.
- Experience with headless Shopify implementations.
- Shopify Plus development experience.
- Knowledge of UI/UX principles and conversion rate optimization (CRO) best practices.
- Fluency in French (both written and spoken) is an asset.
