Job Description
Join Intermountain Health as a Medical Billing Coding Trainee! This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a detail-oriented individual looking to start a career in healthcare administration. You will receive comprehensive training in medical billing and coding practices, learning to process claims, ensure compliance, and maintain accurate patient records. This office-based role requires a commitment to accuracy and a strong desire to learn the intricacies of medical finance and coding regulations. You will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all training sessions related to medical billing, coding, and compliance regulations.
- Assist senior billers and coders with data entry, claim submission, and record keeping.
- Learn to review medical documentation to identify billable services and assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes.
- Understand and apply payer-specific billing rules and guidelines.
- Perform basic follow-up on denied or unpaid claims under supervision.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
- Develop a strong understanding of the revenue cycle process.
