Job Description
Are you practical, enjoy working outdoors, and have a keen eye for detail? Homebase is looking for a Kids Play-set Assembly Helper to join our Banbury team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient assembly of various outdoor play-sets, including swings, slides, climbing frames, and cubby houses, for our valued customers. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina, the ability to follow detailed instructions, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. No prior professional experience is necessary; we provide on-the-job training for motivated individuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble outdoor play-sets and related equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines.
- Perform quality checks on assembled products to ensure structural integrity and safety standards are met.
- Work efficiently and safely outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Utilize a range of hand and power tools effectively and safely.
- Assist with the loading, unloading, and organization of play-set components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both on-site and at the customer's location.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding assembly process and completion.
- Adhere to all company policies and health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Basic proficiency with common hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers) and willingness to learn power tool operation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good physical stamina, capable of lifting and carrying heavy components.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with DIY projects or furniture/equipment assembly.
- Basic understanding of outdoor construction or landscaping principles.
- A full, clean UK driving license (though not essential for initial hiring).
- Basic knowledge of first aid and safety procedures.
