Job Description
Join the H-E-B team as a Commercial Bakery Delivery Driver! We are looking for reliable and dedicated individuals to ensure the timely and safe delivery of our fresh bakery products to various H-E-B stores and other retail partners across the Brownsville area. This vital role involves early morning routes, ensuring our products are on shelves for our customers’ morning rush. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles (vans or small trucks) to transport bakery products.
- Load and unload bakery items, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Follow predetermined delivery routes and schedules, adapting to traffic and weather conditions as needed.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records.
- Interact professionally with store personnel and partners during deliveries.
- Ensure product quality and freshness upon delivery.
- Assist with other warehouse or delivery tasks as required.
Required Skills
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License.
- Clean driving record for the past 3 years (no major violations).
- Ability to lift and move bakery trays and products weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Punctual and reliable attendance.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous commercial delivery driving experience (e.g., food service, package delivery).
- Familiarity with the Brownsville and surrounding areas.
- High school diploma or GED.
