Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Healthcare Policy Researcher to join our dynamic team in Pasco, WA. This pivotal role involves deep dives into clinical data, current healthcare policies, and proposed reforms to inform strategic decision-making and advocacy efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of healthcare systems, excellent research methodologies, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for policy development and improvement. You will contribute significantly to our mission by analyzing the impact of policies on patient care, access, and overall health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of healthcare policies, regulations, and legislative proposals at local, state, and federal levels.
- Utilize clinical data sets to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and model potential impacts of policy changes.
- Prepare comprehensive research reports, policy briefs, and presentations for internal stakeholders, leadership, and external partners.
- Collaborate with clinical teams, data scientists, and legal experts to gather information and validate findings.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments impacting healthcare delivery and reimbursement.
- Develop and recommend policy positions and strategies to advance the organization's mission and improve population health.
- Participate in workgroups, committees, and public forums related to healthcare policy and reform.
- Contribute to grant writing and funding proposals related to policy research initiatives.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in healthcare policy analysis or health services research.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including statistical analysis.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python, SQL) and spreadsheet software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Demonstrated understanding of the US healthcare system, including regulatory frameworks and payment models.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Master's degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Economics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience with large clinical datasets (e.g., EHR data, claims data).
- Familiarity with legislative processes and policy advocacy.
- Prior experience working within a large healthcare system or research institution.
- Project management experience.
