Job Description
United Airlines is seeking motivated individuals for a Part-time Ramp Agent – Weekend Flight Dispatch support, Trainee position in Aurora, CO. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity to start your career in aviation, providing crucial support to our flight operations during peak weekend hours. As a Trainee, you will learn the essential functions of ramp operations, focusing on efficient and safe ground support services that ensure timely flight departures and arrivals. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading luggage, cargo, and mail onto and off aircraft, adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate various ground support equipment (GSE) safely, including tugs, belt loaders, and pushback tractors, after proper training and certification.
- Communicate effectively with flight crew, ground control, and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide support to flight dispatch by ensuring accurate and timely movement of aircraft on the ramp.
- Perform aircraft marshaling and wing-walking duties to guide aircraft to and from gate positions.
- Monitor and maintain a clean and safe ramp environment, reporting any hazards or spills.
- Adhere strictly to all company, airport, and FAA safety regulations and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Work efficiently as part of a team to meet demanding flight schedules, particularly on weekends.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs frequently and work in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security clearance (ACI) and all required certifications.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a physically demanding job or outdoor work environment.
- Basic knowledge of aviation operations or a strong interest in the airline industry.
