Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Biotech Laboratory Specialist with a strong focus on genetic research to join our cutting-edge R&D team in Dallas, TX. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in executing complex genetic experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to groundbreaking discoveries. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a comprehensive understanding of molecular biology techniques, especially those related to genomics and gene editing. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, sequencing library preparation, and CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing.
  • Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment such as next-generation sequencers, real-time PCR systems, and automated liquid handling platforms.
  • Design and execute experimental protocols, ensuring data integrity and reproducibility.
  • Analyze and interpret complex genetic data using bioinformatics tools and statistical software.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and electronic notebooks.
  • Troubleshoot experimental issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including scientists, bioinformaticians, and research associates.
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adhere to strict laboratory safety standards and quality control procedures.

Required Skills

  • PhD or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience in genetic research (post-degree).
  • Proficiency in advanced molecular biology techniques (e.g., NGS, CRISPR, PCR).
  • Strong understanding of genomic principles and applications.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools for genetic data analysis.
  • Excellent aseptic technique and laboratory organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with single-cell sequencing technologies.
  • Familiarity with robotic automation in laboratory settings.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R for data analysis.
