Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Movement Annotator with a passion for sports to join our team in Hamilton. In this role, you will be responsible for meticulously analyzing and annotating human movement within sports video footage. This involves tracking athletes, identifying key actions, and categorizing specific movements using our proprietary software tools. Your precise work will contribute directly to the development of advanced sports analytics, performance tracking, and AI models that enhance the fan experience and provide critical insights to our partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately annotate and categorize human movement within sports video footage according to established guidelines and protocols.
  • Utilize specialized software and tools to track athletes, identify specific actions (e.g., passes, shots, tackles, runs), and record relevant data points.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy and consistency in all annotation tasks, ensuring data integrity.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to refine annotation methodologies and improve data collection processes.
  • Provide constructive feedback on annotation tools and workflows to enhance efficiency and user experience.
  • Manage time effectively to meet annotation targets and project deadlines.
  • Stay informed about relevant sports rules, player movements, and game strategies to improve annotation quality.

Required Skills

  • Strong passion for and knowledge of various sports (e.g., soccer, basketball, rugby, cricket).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain focus on repetitive tasks.
  • Proficiency in using computer applications and learning new software quickly.
  • Excellent visual perception and ability to identify subtle movements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in video annotation, data entry, or quality control roles.
  • A degree or background in Sports Science, Kinesiology, Data Science, or a related field.
