Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and reliable Street Sweepers / Cleaners to join our team, supporting local council operations in Camden, London. This stable, full-time position is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of our public spaces, ensuring a pleasant environment for residents and visitors. You will be an integral part of our community services, working diligently to keep streets, parks, and other public areas spotless.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual street sweeping and litter picking in designated areas.
  • Operate and maintain light mechanical sweeping equipment (where applicable, after training).
  • Collect and dispose of waste and refuse safely and efficiently.
  • Empty public litter bins and report any overflow or damage.
  • Remove graffiti, posters, and other unauthorized materials from public surfaces.
  • Report any hazards, damage to public property, or issues requiring further attention.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with the public.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily cleaning targets.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a cleaning, waste management, or similar outdoor role.
  • A valid UK driving license (Category B) is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of the local Camden area.
