Job Description
Are you an online student with a passion for video games and an eye for detail? Keywords Studios is looking for dedicated and observant Game Testers to join our remote team. This flexible, part-time role is specifically designed to accommodate your academic schedule, allowing you to contribute to the quality of upcoming games from the comfort of your home. You’ll play a crucial role in identifying bugs, providing feedback, and ensuring a polished user experience before games are released to the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and identify software defects and inconsistencies within game titles across various platforms.
- Document and report bugs clearly and concisely in our bug tracking system, including steps to reproduce, severity, and impact.
- Provide detailed and constructive feedback on game design, usability, and overall player experience.
- Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure identified issues are resolved.
- Collaborate effectively with lead testers and project managers to understand testing requirements and priorities.
- Maintain high standards of quality and attention to detail throughout the testing process, adhering to project guidelines.
- Adapt quickly to new tools, technologies, and game genres as required by different projects.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled as an online student (any field of study is welcome).
- Strong passion for video games across various genres and platforms (PC, console, mobile).
- Exceptional observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both written and verbal English.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with bug reporting concepts (or a strong willingness to learn).
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Access to a stable internet connection and a reliable computer/gaming setup suitable for testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in game testing, quality assurance, or beta testing (personal projects or volunteer work are relevant).
- Familiarity with different gaming platforms and operating systems beyond personal use.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management/bug tracking software.
- Ability to analyze game mechanics, identify design flaws, and provide constructive criticism.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycles and agile methodologies.
