Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and meticulous Professional Scribes to join our growing remote team. This is a high-demand, fully remote position for individuals passionate about healthcare and medical documentation. As a Professional Scribe, you will play a crucial role in improving clinical efficiency by documenting patient encounters in real-time, allowing healthcare providers to devote their full attention to patients. This role requires strong active listening skills, excellent typing speed, and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, tech-savvy, and thrive in a remote work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately document patient encounters in real-time, including history, physical exams, procedures, and patient education.
- Navigate electronic health records (EHR) systems to input data, retrieve information, and assist providers with charting.
- Translate medical terminology and observations into comprehensive, coherent notes.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers to clarify documentation details.
- Complete all documentation within designated timeframes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Continuously learn and adapt to various medical specialties and documentation preferences.
Required Skills
- Excellent active listening and comprehension skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and human anatomy.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to type 60+ WPM with high accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with various software applications.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated home office space.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a pre-health program (e.g., pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing).
- Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare administrative role.
- Familiarity with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Certification as a Medical Scribe (CMS) or equivalent.
