Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Agricultural Haulers to join our team for seasonal harvest work in the regional Delaware area. This is a temporary position vital to our harvest operations, ensuring timely and efficient transportation of agricultural products from farms to processing facilities. You will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles, adhering to all safety regulations, and maintaining vehicle integrity. This role requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to meeting production deadlines during peak season.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) safely and efficiently to transport agricultural commodities.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, documenting findings.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of products from various farm locations to processing plants or storage facilities.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of routes, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, farm staff, and plant personnel regarding schedules and potential delays.
- Assist with loading and unloading activities as needed, ensuring proper product handling.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to operate heavy agricultural hauling equipment
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform duties in various weather conditions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including nights and weekends during harvest season
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agricultural hauling or bulk commodity transportation
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Familiarity with regional Delaware farm locations and road networks
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting
