Job Description
Are you passionate about video games and eager to break into the gaming industry? Electronic Arts is looking for enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as an Entry Level Playtester. This is a unique opportunity to turn your love for games into a career, working directly with development teams to ensure our titles meet the highest standards of quality and fun. You’ll play upcoming games, identify bugs, provide valuable feedback, and contribute to the overall player experience. No prior professional experience is required; we’re looking for raw talent, a keen eye, and a genuine interest in making great games.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and play through games methodically to identify and report software defects, glitches, and inconsistencies.
- Document bugs clearly and concisely in our bug tracking system, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
- Provide constructive feedback on gameplay, user experience, and overall game balance.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, developers, and QA engineers to understand project goals and contribute to product quality.
- Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to ensure issues are resolved without introducing new problems.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions, sharing insights and contributing to a positive team environment.
Required Skills
- Profound passion for video games across various genres and platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail and observational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate findings clearly.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with common software applications.
- Ability to follow instructions and execute test cases meticulously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Eligibility to work full-time in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with different gaming consoles, PC gaming, and mobile platforms.
- Familiarity with common bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) is a plus but not required.
- Understanding of the basic principles of game design or development.
- Previous informal experience testing games (alpha/beta programs, community feedback, etc.).
