Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Guitar String Winding Assistant to join our production team at our Durban manufacturing facility. In this hands-on role, you will be integral to the precise and efficient winding of guitar strings, ensuring the highest quality standards are met for our diverse range of instruments. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are detail-oriented, have good manual dexterity, and possess a genuine interest in musical instrument manufacturing. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor string winding machines according to production specifications.
  • Load raw materials (core wire, wrap wire) onto machines accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform quality checks on wound strings, identifying and rectifying any imperfections.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Assist with machine setup, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Record production data and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production targets.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Required Skills

  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and production procedures.
  • Basic understanding of machinery operation (training provided).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Familiarity with musical instruments, especially guitars.
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
