Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Anesthesiologist to join our dynamic medical team at Brandon Regional Health Centre. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized anesthetic plans for a diverse range of surgical procedures.
- Administer various types of anesthesia (general, regional, local) safely and effectively.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and physiological responses throughout surgical procedures.
- Manage and respond to medical emergencies and complications during anesthesia.
- Provide post-operative care and pain management in collaboration with surgical teams.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and documentation.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.
- Educate and mentor residents and medical students as required.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a recognized Anesthesiology residency program.
- Current or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM).
- Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Anesthesiology, or equivalent international certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of anesthesiology practice.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship training in a subspecialty of anesthesiology (e.g., Cardiac, Pediatric, Regional).
- Experience working in a tertiary care or regional hospital setting.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement.
- Research experience or interest in academic contributions.
