Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Linehaul Drivers to join our team in Escondido, CA. As a FedEx Linehaul Driver, you will be a crucial part of our vast network, responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight between our various hubs and distribution centers. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (CMV) safely and in compliance with all DOT regulations.
- Transport freight over long distances between FedEx operating facilities.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery and pickup of shipments.
- Secure freight properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of hours of service, vehicle inspections, and delivery manifests.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding schedules and potential delays.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, including hours of service (HOS)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull freight weighing up to 75 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with doubles and triples endorsements
- Hazardous materials (Hazmat) endorsement
- Previous linehaul or long-haul driving experience
- Experience operating various types of commercial vehicles
