Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of high school students? Boys & Girls Clubs of King County is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Service Associate to join our team in Fremont, Seattle. This is an entry-level position with comprehensive training provided, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to start a career in youth development or community service. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging educational, recreational, and leadership programs for high school members.
  • Supervise and mentor high school members, ensuring their safety and positive participation in club activities.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with high school members, their families, and school personnel.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized club environment conducive to learning and growth.
  • Facilitate group activities and provide individual support to members as needed.
  • Document member participation, progress, and incidents as required.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, respect, and enthusiasm.
  • Support outreach efforts to engage more high school students in club programs.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations of youth and adults
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations
  • Basic computer proficiency (e.g., email, word processing)
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Boys & Girls Clubs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college coursework or degree in education, social work, or a related field
  • Previous experience working or volunteering with youth (e.g., tutoring, coaching, camp counseling)
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Bilingual abilities (especially Spanish, Somali, or Vietnamese) are a plus
