Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Agricultural Haulers for seasonal harvest work in the regional Fayetteville area. As an Agricultural Hauler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of various agricultural products, commodities, and equipment between farms, processing facilities, and storage locations during peak harvest seasons. This role is crucial to ensuring our agricultural operations run smoothly and efficiently, contributing directly to our supply chain success.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (e.g., tractors, semi-trucks with trailers) to transport agricultural products such as grains, feed, livestock, or produce.
- Adhere strictly to all state and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, ensuring all equipment is in safe operating condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicle operation, mileage, and cargo as required.
- Load and unload agricultural products using appropriate equipment and techniques, ensuring product integrity.
- Communicate effectively with farm managers, dispatchers, and processing plant personnel regarding schedules and logistics.
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance and cleaning as needed.
- Be available for varying work hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as dictated by harvest schedules.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate various commercial agricultural vehicles and equipment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols for commercial driving.
- Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
- Physical stamina to handle demanding work, including bending, lifting, and prolonged sitting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ years) in agricultural hauling or similar commercial driving roles.
- Experience operating grain carts, hopper trailers, or livestock trailers.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
