Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and driven Energy Sector Analyst with a strong focus on Data Intelligence to join our growing team in Overland Park, KS. This role will be instrumental in supporting our clients in the Houston energy sector by leveraging data to uncover insights, optimize operations, and inform strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of energy markets, exceptional data analysis skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations. You will work on challenging projects, utilizing advanced analytics and visualization tools to provide cutting-edge solutions to our energy clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth data analysis on energy market trends, operational performance, and financial data relevant to the Houston energy sector.
- Develop and maintain robust data models, dashboards, and reports to visualize key performance indicators and identify critical insights.
- Utilize statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques to forecast market behavior and assess risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with client teams to understand business challenges and translate them into data-driven analytical solutions.
- Present findings and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in data intelligence and the energy industry.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data analysis methodologies and tools within the team.
Required Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field, preferably within the energy sector.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
- Strong understanding of energy markets, including oil & gas, renewables, power generation, and utilities.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights effectively to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and applications.
- Previous consulting experience with energy clients.
- Certifications in data analytics or relevant industry technologies.
