Job Description
Are you passionate about hair and eager to master the art of modern texture techniques? Ulta Beauty is seeking a dedicated Junior Perm Specialist to join our dynamic salon team in New Port Richey. This is an incredible opportunity for a budding stylist to learn and grow under the guidance of experienced professionals. You’ll work directly with clients, assisting with consultations and applying a variety of perm and texture services, from classic waves to advanced, contemporary styles. We are committed to providing comprehensive training to help you develop your skills and become a master in the field of permanent waving and texturizing. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior stylists with client consultations for perm and texture services, understanding client desires and hair history.
- Prepare clients for perm services, including shampooing, conditioning, and sectioning hair.
- Apply perm solutions and neutralizers following safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
- Learn and practice various modern winding techniques, rod placements, and sectioning strategies for different texture outcomes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, tools, and salon area.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive and relaxing experience for all clients.
- Actively participate in ongoing training and educational workshops to stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in perm and texture services.
- Manage appointment scheduling and client records as needed.
- Recommend appropriate at-home hair care products to maintain perm longevity and hair health.
Required Skills
- Current cosmetology license or actively pursuing licensure (e.g., enrolled in an accredited program nearing completion).
- Basic understanding of hair structure and chemical processes.
- Strong passion for hair styling and specifically for perm/texture services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced salon environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new techniques and product knowledge.
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing a superior client experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (even minimal, e.g., salon assistant, externship) in a salon setting.
- Portfolio showcasing basic styling or chemical service work (if applicable).
- Knowledge of Ulta Beauty's product lines and services.
