Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Linen Assistant to join our hospital logistics team. In this routine ongoing role, you will be responsible for the efficient management, distribution, and collection of linen throughout our hospital facilities. This is a crucial support role that ensures our patients and staff have access to clean, fresh linen, contributing directly to a hygienic and comfortable healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect soiled linen from wards, departments, and clinical areas.
- Sort and prepare linen for washing according to established procedures.
- Deliver clean linen supplies to designated areas across the hospital.
- Maintain accurate records of linen stock levels and distribution.
- Operate linen trolleys and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control policies.
- Communicate effectively with ward staff and colleagues regarding linen requirements.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of new linen supplies as needed.
- Ensure linen storage areas are kept clean, tidy, and organised.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
- Good physical stamina for lifting, pushing, and pulling linen trolleys.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications
