Job Description
Are you passionate about automotive diagnostics and helping people on the go? AAA is seeking a dedicated Mobile Car Battery Tester – Diagnostic Tasker to join our dynamic team in Sugar Land, TX. In this crucial role, you will be the face of AAA, providing expert battery testing, diagnostic services, and on-the-spot replacements for our valued members. You will operate a state-of-the-art mobile unit, traveling to member locations to ensure their vehicles are safe and reliable. This position requires strong technical skills, a commitment to exceptional customer service, and the ability to work independently in various conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to member locations promptly and safely using a company-provided vehicle.
- Perform comprehensive battery diagnostic tests and assess vehicle starting and charging systems.
- Accurately diagnose battery health issues and recommend appropriate solutions, including replacement.
- Install new batteries efficiently and correctly, ensuring proper fitment and functionality.
- Educate members on battery maintenance and other automotive best practices.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines.
- Manage inventory of batteries and related equipment in the service vehicle.
- Provide exceptional customer service, representing AAA professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive maintenance, battery service, or related field.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and battery testing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to lift heavy batteries (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification, particularly in Electrical/Electronic Systems.
- Experience with various vehicle makes and models.
- Prior experience in a mobile service or roadside assistance role.
- High School Diploma or GED.
