Job Description
Are you a night owl with an eagle eye for detail? Electronic Arts is seeking a dedicated Night Shift QA Analyst to join our dynamic EA SPORTS team in Joliet, IL. This critical role involves ensuring the highest quality standards for our beloved sports titles, working during the overnight hours when focus and precision are paramount. You will be responsible for meticulous testing, identifying, and documenting bugs and inconsistencies, contributing directly to the player experience. This position offers a high night differential to compensate for the unique hours, recognizing your commitment to excellence around the clock.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive test plans and cases for various EA SPORTS titles during the night shift.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and anomalies using bug tracking systems.
- Provide clear, concise, and detailed bug reports, including reproduction steps, expected results, and actual results.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
- Perform regression testing and verification of bug fixes.
- Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Stay current with game features, design changes, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for video games, especially sports titles.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night hours.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of software development life cycles and QA methodologies.
- Proficiency with PC and console gaming platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a QA or testing role, particularly in the gaming industry.
- Experience with various game genres and platforms.
- Familiarity with test automation tools or scripting.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Game Design).
