Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Recruiter with a strong Human Resources focus to join our talent acquisition team in Arlington Heights, IL. This office-based role is critical in attracting, sourcing, and hiring top-tier nursing talent to meet the growing demands of our healthcare system. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of HR principles, employment law, and recruitment best practices, ensuring a seamless and compliant hiring process from start to finish. You will be instrumental in building relationships with nursing leaders, managing candidate pipelines, and contributing to the overall success of our workforce planning initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for various nursing roles across Advocate Aurora Health facilities, from entry-level to specialized positions.
  • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to identify qualified nursing candidates, utilizing job boards, professional networks, social media, and direct outreach.
  • Conduct thorough interviews, assessments, and background checks in compliance with HR policies and legal requirements.
  • Partner closely with nursing hiring managers to understand their staffing needs, provide market insights, and advise on recruitment strategies.
  • Extend and negotiate competitive job offers, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Participate in career fairs, networking events, and other recruitment activities to promote Advocate Aurora Health as an employer of choice.
  • Stay informed of current healthcare industry trends, nursing licensure requirements, and employment legislation to ensure compliant recruitment practices.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving recruitment efficiency, diversity, and candidate experience.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in recruitment, with at least 1 year focused on healthcare or nursing roles.
  • Strong understanding of Human Resources principles, including employment law and best practices.
  • Proven ability to source, screen, and interview candidates effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruitment software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, office-based environment and manage multiple requisitions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with hiring managers and candidates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP).
  • Experience recruiting for a large hospital system or healthcare organization.
  • Knowledge of nursing specialties and healthcare terminology.
