Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team in Simi Valley for full-time day shifts. In this vital role, you will work under the supervision of registered nurses, providing essential direct patient care, support, and comfort to our patients. Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment, ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care during their stay. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) accurately.
- Document patient observations, care provided, and vital signs in electronic health records.
- Assist nurses with patient mobility, transfers, and ambulation using appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient environment.
- Respond to patient calls promptly and effectively.
- Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Perform basic wound care as directed by the nursing staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in California.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Ability to accurately take and record vital signs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong empathy and compassion for patients.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients safely.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an acute care or hospital setting.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience assisting with post-surgical care.
