Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Online Transcriptionist to join our remote team. This specialized role focuses on transcribing sensitive medical and legal content related to 17-year-old teens. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional listening skills, a high level of accuracy, and a deep understanding of both medical and legal terminology. You will be responsible for converting audio recordings into accurate, written documents while strictly adhering to confidentiality protocols and tight deadlines. This is a crucial role that supports legal processes involving minors, requiring discretion and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio recordings of medical evaluations, legal proceedings, and interviews involving 17-year-old teens with high accuracy and speed.
- Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality and data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, legal ethics) concerning minor-related information.
- Identify and accurately transcribe medical and legal terminology, acronyms, and jargon relevant to the content.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and consistency.
- Manage and prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines and turnaround times.
- Utilize transcription software and related tools effectively.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding project status and any encountered issues.
- Maintain meticulous records of all transcribed work.
Required Skills
- Minimum typing speed of 75 WPM with high accuracy.
- Proven experience in medical and/or legal transcription.
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and conditions.
- Solid knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and documentation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify nuances in speech.
- Proficiency with transcription software and office productivity tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Medical Assisting, Paralegal Studies).
- Certification in Medical Transcription (CMT) or Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) or equivalent legal transcription certification.
- Prior experience working with sensitive content involving minors or vulnerable populations.
- Familiarity with specific state and federal regulations regarding minors' medical and legal documentation.
- Experience with various audio formats and difficult audio quality.
