Job Description
Join ConocoPhillips as an Operations Intern within our Upstream Field Mentorship Program in Park City, Utah. This unique internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in various aspects of upstream oil and gas operations. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to real-world projects and learning about production optimization, safety protocols, and field development. This program is designed to provide comprehensive mentorship and expose you to the full lifecycle of upstream assets, preparing you for a successful career in the energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist field engineers and operators in daily upstream operations, including monitoring well performance and equipment.
- Participate in data collection, analysis, and reporting to support operational efficiency and decision-making.
- Learn and adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Support the implementation of operational improvements and new technologies.
- Engage in mentorship activities, including shadowing experienced personnel and participating in team meetings.
- Contribute to project planning and execution, gaining exposure to various engineering and operational challenges.
- Document observations, findings, and recommendations for operational processes.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or co-op experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
- Leadership experience in academic or extracurricular activities.
- Knowledge of upstream oil and gas processes and equipment.
