Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Trainee in a dynamic clinical setting. This entry-level position is an incredible opportunity for someone passionate about healthcare and eager to start a rewarding career as a Pharmacy Technician. As a Trainee, you will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced pharmacists and technicians, learning the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in an outpatient pharmacy environment. You will play a crucial role in assisting our pharmacists, ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our outpatient pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed pharmacists with preparing and dispensing prescription medications to patients in an outpatient clinical setting.
- Learn to accurately input patient information and prescription details into the pharmacy system.
- Participate in managing pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and assisting with order placement.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients, answering routine questions, and directing complex inquiries to the pharmacist.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Shadow and learn from experienced pharmacy technicians and pharmacists, actively participating in training modules and skill development.
- Assist with cash register transactions and processing insurance claims under supervision.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Required Skills

- Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous customer service experience in any field.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology is a plus, but not required.
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency is highly valued.
