Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Policy Professional to join our national team. This is a crucial role for individuals passionate about shaping healthcare policy and advocating for improved health outcomes across the United States. As a Policy Professional, you will be instrumental in analyzing policy proposals, interpreting regulatory changes, and developing strategic recommendations to ensure UnitedHealthcare remains at the forefront of healthcare innovation and compliance. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to significant policy initiatives from anywhere in the USA, working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and report on emerging legislative and regulatory developments impacting the healthcare industry at federal and state levels.
- Develop policy positions, white papers, and advocacy materials to articulate the company's stance on key healthcare issues.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, clinical, and business teams to assess the operational impact of policy changes and guide implementation strategies.
- Represent the company in discussions with government officials, industry associations, and other external stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance on policy interpretation and implications to senior leadership and internal departments.
- Support the development and execution of strategic policy initiatives.
- Conduct comprehensive research on healthcare trends, competitor activities, and public sentiment related to policy matters.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and research skills with an ability to interpret complex legislative and regulatory documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of the U.S. healthcare system, including its legislative, regulatory, and market dynamics.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Health Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Experience working with federal or state legislative bodies or regulatory agencies.
