Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our Business Support team, specifically focusing on initiatives related to Google Supply Chain optimization. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services critical to our operations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, identifying opportunities for process improvement and driving value across the procurement lifecycle. This position requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of procurement best practices, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to payment, for goods and services related to Google Supply initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate performance, and negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., finance, legal, operations) to define procurement needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and ITTs, critically evaluating bids and making recommendations for supplier selection.
  • Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and service level agreements, addressing any issues proactively.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements within the procurement function.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a procurement or supply chain role.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain principles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification or working towards one.
  • Experience working with or understanding of procurement within a large, multinational organization.
  • Familiarity with Google's supply chain or similar large-scale technology supply operations.
