Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Property Maintenance Assistant (Handyman/Mate) to join our dynamic team in Buffalo, NY. This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals eager to learn and grow within the property management industry. You will work alongside experienced technicians, assisting with a variety of tasks to maintain our properties to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled maintenance technicians with repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Perform routine inspections and minor repairs, such as changing light bulbs, fixing simple leaks, and tightening loose fixtures.
  • Support groundskeeping efforts, including litter removal and basic landscaping.
  • Help with the movement and setup of equipment, furniture, and materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Report any significant maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants and property occupants as needed.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, and climbing ladders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High level of reliability and punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid New York State driver's license.
  • Previous experience in a labor-intensive role, even outside of property maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, or carpentry is a plus, but not required.
