Job Description
We are seeking a friendly and organized Receptionist to join our dynamic team at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for patient service. As the first point of contact for many of our patients and visitors, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and efficient experience. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and possess a professional and empathetic demeanor. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls promptly and accurately.
- Schedule and confirm appointments, managing calendars efficiently.
- Maintain tidy and presentable reception area, with all necessary stationery and material.
- Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers.
- Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing, and faxing.
- Handle patient inquiries and direct them to the appropriate department or personnel.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed to support various departments.
Required Skills
- Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Associate's degree or certification in office administration or a related field
- Experience in a healthcare or medical office setting
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish)
